Discovering Together

World Book Day 2023

What a World Book Day!

This year we decorated book hats in the theme of our favourite books and wore them with great pride as we celebrated all things reading! The vast selection of books and creativity on show was so impressive, with many of us picking up new recommended reads in the form of a hat!

We enjoyed a memorable author visit from Sophie Cleverly who talked to us all about being an author, the writing process and shared readings from her latest book in the Violet Veil Mysteries series. Lots of inspired, budding authors asked Sophie an array of fantastic questions! https://sophiecleverly.com/

Our fantastic team of librarians delivered a dramatic retelling of 'The Book With No Pictures' which had the whole school brimming with laughter.

We all enjoyed our annual 'books with biscuits', with children and adults across the school coming together to explore one of our many wonderful books.

We broke a personal world record by fitting the entire school in our library for an end of the day story retelling with Mrs Anderson.

After school, children visited our book themed sweet shop- the perfect treat to enjoy with a book!

The following day, we excitedly ventured off on our whole school trip to the story museum in Oxford as part of our World Book Week celebrations. Check out our brilliant booky day here:
