E-Safety
In the age where access to the world wide web is so much easier it is crucial that we teach children how to be responsible and keep themselves safe which on the internet. E Safety is an embedded part of the school's curriculum and as such taught and reinforced through explicit teaching and through cross curricular learning.
The following are our E-safety rules and we ask that parents and children understand and agree to these rules on joining Stanton.
Pupil Online Safety and Responsible Internet Use
These rules help us to be fair to others and keep everyone including myself safe.
-
I will ask permission before using the internet.
-
I will use only my own or my class network login and password.
-
I will only open or delete my own files.
-
I understand that I must not bring into school and use software or files without permission.
-
I will only email and open attachments from people I know, or my teacher has approved.
-
The messages I send will be polite and sensible.
-
I understand that I must never give my home address or phone number, or arrange to meet someone when online.
-
If I see anything I am unhappy with or I receive messages I do not like, I will tell a teacher immediately.
-
I understand that the school may check my computer files, any emails I send and the internet sites I visit.
-
I understand that if I deliberately break these rules, I may not be allowed to use the internet or computers.
-
If I must bring a mobile phone into school this is first to be agreed by the Head Teacher and parent and written permission given.
-
My phone will be named and given to Mrs Druce at the beginning of the day and collected at the end of the day. The school takes no responsibility for my mobile phone.
-
No photographs are to be taken at the beginning/end, and/or during the school day. This includes children who use school transport.
-
At this time the school actively discourages BYO tablet devices.
The school may exercise its right to monitor the use of the school’s computer systems, including access to websites, the interception of emails and the deletion of inappropriate materials where it believes unauthorised use of the schools computer network is or may be taking place, or the system is or may be used for the criminal purposes or for storing unauthorised or unlawful text, imagery or sound. The South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL) monitors all internet use and will notify the police and Local Authority if an illegal website is accessed.
