Making magic wands was a fantastic opportunity for the children to begin the art of knots - adorning their wands by wrapping beautiful ribbons and then attempting a single or even double overhand knot!
It was also a perfect activity for a spot of whittling too!
We began the session with an oral retelling of the traditional tale 'The Magic Porridge Pot'...
which led to the creation of a variety of different porridge concoctions...
There were also houses to build and homes to furnish...
Teddies to zipline...
and broomsticks to ride!
