School Development Priorities

Each year the governors review the school development priorities that are then used to produce the School Development Plan. (SDP) The following are the school's priorities for 2018-19

Outcomes for Pupils

  • GPS is accurately applied in independent writing. Standards of GPS at Stanton are at least in line with national standards – Ofsted 2018
  • All children make good progress from their starting points.

Teaching, Learning and assessment inc Learning Environment

  • Teaching and learning is high quality and consistent across the school in response to staffing changes.
  • Review pedagogy and core principles for teaching and learning.
  • Refurbishment  of IT Hardware – replacement of class desktops with laptops in KS2
  • Development of Nile Nurture Room, Library and Learning Zone.
  • Creation of Curiosity Zones in Communal areas to engage and celebrate a wider curriculum.


Non- Core Subject – in focus

  • PE Implement new Scheme of Work.
  • Computing – review effectiveness of current scheme of work and software against National Curriculum Expectations.

Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare to inc SMSC – Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural

  • Review Behaviour Policy in light of implementation of restorative practices.
  • Explore jobs that people do within our community.
  • British Values – Centenary 1918-2018


Effectiveness of Leadership and Management including Governance

  • Succession planning for Governance and SLT/HT
  • Exploring models of sustainability and future-proofing Stanton St Quintin Primary School.
  • Develop School to School Collaboration of Maths No Problem support as a Maths No problem Accredited school.
  • CPD of Maths No problem and Phonics for new staff.


Effectiveness of the Early Years Provision

  • Early identification of more able mathematicians in Early Years and subsequent stretch and challenge – Ofsted 2018
  • Early acquisition and accurate handwriting and letter orientation.
